Salinas is a coastal city in the Santa Elena Province of Ecuador and the seat of Salinas Canton. It has a population of about 34,700 people, and its urban area is divided into four parishes. Located at the westernmost point of the country, it forms part of the Santa Elena urban area together with La Libertad, Santa Elena, José Luis Tamayo and Ballenita. Famous for its beaches, Salinas is regarded as the country’s most important seaside resort.
