Salinas is a city in the Santa Elena Province of Ecuador and the seat of Salinas Canton. It has a population of 34,719 inhabitants, and its urban area is divided into four parishes. Located at the western tip of the country, it forms part of the Santa Elena urban conglomerate along with La Libertad, Santa Elena, José Luis Tamayo, and Ballenita. Known for its beaches, the city is considered the most important seaside resort in the country.
